Parrot AR Drone - Australia
Parrot AR

Using an iPhone®, iPod touch®, iPad or Android device as the remote controller, the Parrot AR Drone is a groundbreaking new toy. Featuring a number of sensors including an ultrasound altimeter, a forward facing camera and a camera underneath for top down views, the Parrot AR can be used in augmented reality video games such as AR FlyingAce – a dogfight between two drones, with virtual missile fire.

After connecting the Parrot AR drone to the controlling device by an ad hoc Wi-Fi link, the Parrot AR drone can be controlled as long as the wireless signal is available. This will vary depending upon the environment in which the drone is being used; on average the range is 50 meters.

Thanks to its many sensors, the Parrot AR can maintain stable flight at a height of up to 6 meters / 20 feet. As the altitude at which the drone can fly depends exclusively on the Wi-Fi range, it can potentially fly up to a height of 50 meters / 160 feet! (Max height can be restricted to 3 meters / 10 feet using the software settings).

Each Parrot AR drone is supplied with both an indoor and outdoor hull. The hull with the protective loops is for indoor use with the other coloured hull is for use outdoors. There are three outdoor hull colours available, green, yellow and blue and only one colour for the indoor hull.
